A Bus ride..

I woke up this morning, and decided to do something that I hadn't done in close to 2 years. Go on a bus ride around the city. Me and my friend would do this quite often when he lived here. So I snuck into my jeans, had my breakfast, and got on my bus. It was bus route 201, the longest bus route in Bnagalore. I got on at 10 15 am, which was just after the busy rush hour. The bus was empty for the first half hour of the journey, but started filling up as we went through the commercial districts. I met my college lecturer as she got on. It took her some time to recognize me. It's been a while. The bus went meandering through the busier parts of the city and a steady flow of commuters got on and off.Office goers mostly and a few students.
I started noticing several changes along the route. The overhead metro construction work had progressed handsomely, although that can be debated, and the bus stops had been redone, and looked a bit snazzy(some of them). Earth had been dug up, all along the route, because new cable lines were being installed.
I reached CV Raman Nagar in about an hour and forty five minutes. Pretty good time. CV Raman Nagar is a place where Air Force personnel live while they are stationed in the city. It houses a lot of scientists who work on government projects. All the houses are 3 floors and painted ochre-yellow. Nothing much to do there, as I found out after roaming around for a while.. Got on the bus back home, and waited for a while as the driver went and had a little snack. It's a long journey.
On the way back home, it turned a little cloudy and the mercury dipped a bit. The bus was fuller this time, and we halted at more bus stops this time. The radio was on, and I caught up on some Rihanna and even some Depeche Mode as well! Thrift shop stared playing soon after. The sky went from cloudy to overcast. and it had me praying for some rain, but it never happened. I reached home sooner than expected.Lunch comprised of a full South Indian thali from Matru Sagar, and that pretty much summed up the afternoon.
