Ubuntu Kernel goes Missing...

I switched on the computer as usual on the 25th, and did not really feel that it would be any different from any other day. You press the start button, select the Ubuntu OS and press Enter. That's what I did, only to find, that the Ubuntu Kernel had gone missing. In lay man's terms, the whole Friggin Ubuntu O.S was gone. Without me doing anything to it. I guess Microsoft finally bamboo-ed Ubuntu out of the PC. Although the kernel is there no more, the disk space is still being utilized by the Ubuntu partition. God alone knows how I can fix it.
So I decided that I will not be installing Ubuntu again on this piece of junk. I've been using the bugging XP again after about 6 months, and hell, is it slow! The Lucid Lynx is coming out of the forests in a few days, and I will install it on the new Laptop,(when I get one), dual booting it with the Windows 7.
I saw a very good movie, amidst all this hub bub. "The Color Purple". To be honest with you, I never knew Whoopy Goldberg was an actress. She turned out to be a very good actress at that. One of the better movies that I have seen lately. That's it, and that's that for now. Ah yes, I've been taking a bit of interest in looking into foreign relations of India, especially with the bastardish neighbour. Pretty interesting.
