My Dum Alu Recipe!

Back in college, I was well known for serendipitously creating a great Dum Alu Recipe out of nowhere.. I finally made it again after all these years and decided to share it with everyone. So here goes.. Dum Alu  Dice Potatoes in halves or quarters. Add salt and turmeric and let them sit for a while.  In pressure cooker, add oil. Fry the potatoes till outsides are a bit crisp. This is to maintain the shape of the pieces during pressure cooking.  Remove potatoes and keep aside.  In the same oil, add jeera, whole pepper corns, half/quarter of javitri, one Jaiphal cut in half, bay leaves, 2 big black cardamom, 4-5 cloves, a stick of cinnamon broken in half. Simmer for a while. Add curry chopped onions, fry till caramelized.  Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric and coriander powder and continue to simmer.  Add ginger garlic paste if you want to and saute till smell goes away.  Add tomato and green chilly puree and cook. A lot to write about...

Here's me again, after quite some time. I've been quite busy lately, not with anything serious, but with living life in general. And after a big lull in going out and enjoying myself, I was back at it this week. Incidentally, I happened to watch three movies, My Name is Khan, Invictus, and Up in the Air, in the course of this week, and went to places like Garuda and Forum in Koramangala, after a long long time. Let me have a jab at writing movie reviews today, and here goes nothing. 1. My Name is Khan- Is a film that I went to watch with no expectations from it. That's because its a Karan Johar film. It turns out, Johar has masterd the art of copying themes from famous English movies, and the plot and settings, are directly taken from them. The parts where he fills in himself, are drab and lackluster, with stupid sentiments and cheesy lines, that can only be from bollywood.
